We return to the campus in May, although online lessons kept going in the past two months.  It is students’ duty to get up early every morning to do the self-test as approved by parents/guardians; if the result is negative, mark the letter “n” in the handbook. Class teachers will check the handbook every morning to begin a good school day.  I wish all school members and their families good health and happiness. If there are medical professionals in your families or among friends, please relate our gratitude to them for their hard work in the previous months and years. They have done so much for us.

In the past, students and I had a greeting cry, a two-way ritual we used when I speak in the presence of the student body.  That is, we say hello to each other together. The senior students should remember, perhaps student leaders in different committees can teach junior form students when you meet together.  It is important for us to get closer, to know each other, and to learn from each other, all to begin with a greeting.

If our society is growing healthier, we have two solid months for school lessons. We also want to have normal extra curricular activities, leadership training, sports activities, and so on as soon as we can. So our concerted effort in keeping ourselves healthy, and getting shots necessary is important. We can discipline ourselves, we can also be led by our new student union and house committee members recently formed. We can ask ourselves: how we can contribute and participate in the growth of the student union and houses, and how we monitor and govern the work of the student union and different houses.

If we have no expectation, or if we do not know what we want, then we will not know if whoever governing us is doing their work properly or not.  There will be times that the governing students fail us, and they will, because we are all students here doing voluntary work, and we are here to learn. But from the mistakes, either governing or be governed, we will learn how an administration is supposed to be.

It is odd to call it a new beginning for more than half of the school year is gone; but perhaps after a long holiday, we need to be reminded the reasons why we are here.
