1 March 2016

01/03/2016
It is March already. What have you done in the past two months?

I think people around you, like teachers, parents, or even classmates asked you this question often enough.  They may be beating a dead horse, but you ought to plan the following months well. For junior students, I have two pieces of advice for you. The first suggestion is to clear all study materials every day, and study intensively one and a half months before your final exams. By studying every day and then intensively a month or so later, you can put knowledge to your long-term memory. The present subjects might look trivial and tedious, but they are the foundation leading to the senior subjects. My next suggestion is to read more. As a senior student, I regret not listening to teachers’ advice and read more. Reading extensively will help not only the language subjects, but also improve our worldview.

For Form 4 and 5 students, other than studying intensively and reading extensively, I would like to share with you my whereabouts after school. I go to the self-studying room in Tiu Keng Leng Public Library. The room is quiet, and more importantly you can learn from students from different schools who study very hard for their exams. So my way to focus in the remaining one year will be to find for the best way which gives me motivation to study.  As for Form 6 students, I am sure you are now fighting the last exam demons in your secondary school life.  I wish you luck.

Besides studying, we need to contribute to the school and student body; we are going to have an election for the next Student Union soon. As a member of the Student Union, I have learnt and experienced a lot. I served King Ling students; I received supports and complaints from you. I would not learn to love my school if I were a phantom student. Schoolmates, please do not be afraid to stand out of the crowd. The first thing to success is to recognize yourselves, acknowledge your strengths and flaws and slowly reach your goals.  How do I know that?  Because I always know “We are” is the answer to the question: “Who is the best?”, and so do you.
